MY NEW SCHOOL
I'm in DPSIS (Delhi Public School "International School" ) in Singapore, I've recently joined and attended school for I guess six weeks..
There are many things I REALLY LIKE about this school (and dislike some :P )
My New School (for me) is one of the best school's I've ever attended in this godforsaken nation (ahem ahem)
STUFF I LIKE :D
1. The Teachers
The teachers actually teach, for a change. I'm not expected to mug up anything and none of the teachers are irritating (except SOME. NO DETAILS!!! )
2. My Classroom
My Classroom is actually a normal size dance room, now divided into two by an extremely fragile STYROFOAM Wall. Its fun, small, gets incredibly stuffy when the air-con isn't working... And it kinda rox :)
3. TWO Basketball Courts
I ONLY like the fact that there are TWO BASKETBALL COURTS.. 'nuff said.
4. PEOPLE!!
Believe it or not, I've found a few friends at this place and frankly I'm kinda proud of it :) A week before joining school I was sure I'd be a nobody non-existant personality.. Thankfully I'm not :) :) :)
5. Indian National Anthem
Ok, laugh. But I Love My Country and I Love the fact that DPSIS, being an Indian School in Singapore, has Our National Anthem sung ^_^
STUFF I DONT LIKE
1. Air-Con
Sometimes the little devilish box at the top of the classroom decides not to function and let us die in the incredibly HOT, STUFFY, HUMID environment EVER.
2. Colour of the Building : BLUE
Ok BLUE. BLUE... dammit it SUCKS! I can't go on to explain this point further..
3. Canteen : MADHURIMA
I'll give just one example. A can of coke in ANY SCHOOL IN SINGAPORE is S$1.00 or less. ONE DOLLAR. But here, its S$1.20. It's food SUCKS. A classmate made a joke about one of its sauces.. Its a good joke, but I'm involved in it.. so, whatever. :P
4. The Basketball Courts (AGAIN)
Remember I LIKED something about the courts? Well. Apparently, not so much. I can easily touch the rim. COZ ITS ONLY EIGHT AND A HALF FEET. The courts are PUNY.
5. Certain Rules
Like the rule "no eating in class". I've been in KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA. We had no canteens and had to eat in classrooms itself. NEW AND AWESOME LUNCH EXPERIENCES EVERYDAY. I miss that 3 Its a pain to walk all the way to the other end of the compound to that stupid MADHURIMA canteen..
Well this is it :) (for now ;) )
The colour of the building of my school is worse, there is NO canteen and we have sillier rules than not eating in class, for example girls and boys to ALWAYS be in separate grounds.
ReplyDeleteSee, you're much better off than me! ;)
Blue is a great colour in case you don't know.
ReplyDelete(but then again you did specify that YOU don't like it so...whatever)
Its great that you guys aren't allowed to have lunch in the classrooms. I'll give your reasons:
1.) The classrooms won't get dirty.
2.) You can actually go out of the class during lunch with friends.
3.) If you cannot have food in the class, so can't your friends. In the end what matters, Friends or Class?
Air Conditioning is not everything and you MUST learn to live without it or it can be addicting.(its for your good)
We have better courts than you then. I guess :P
and yeah, talking about food. My school has the mastery at making bad food with bad services (although for free ;)
And yeah in case you don't like the rule remember what a wise man said,"Rules are meant to be broken"
Hoping that this helps
good day
Happiness always!
